Women for Pollak a great success!
Thank you to all who made yesterday’s Women for Pollak event a great success! We had a full house, including women from all across the 9th congressional district. The event began with introductions by Mary Laney, followed by a comedy performance by Caryn Bark. Serene Velasco, Jasmine Hauser, and Molly Rabinovitz each explained why they, as women, got involved in our campaign to bring a fresh start to the 9th!
Next up was my wife, Julia, who spoke about her two most important issues: fiscal stability and national security. Julia described how Congress has constantly raised spending limits, while failing to regulate Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. She also addressed the crisis in America’s relations with our allies–not just Israel, but also India, Poland, and others who have felt the cold shoulder of Congress and the administration. My campaign manager, Ashley Kain, also spoke about the education issues that motivated her to get involved in politics, and her experiences in leading our campaign on the road to victory.
I spoke next, and then opened the floor to questions. We had some very challenging–and, I believe, constructive–exchanges with some visitors who tested my responses on social issues. We also were joined by many women business owners, who displayed and sold their wares on tables set up outside the room. Thanks to all who participated, especially in this 90th anniversary week of women’s right to vote!
