Joel made it clear that he had conservative views but was focused on working with people on both sides of the aisle, whether here or in Washington, to address problems and come up with reasonable solutions.
He said that as a candidate he would represent the 9th Congressional District in Washington; not represent Washington to the 9th Congressional District.
