Momentum – Let’s keep it going!

Our campaign has hit its stride. We are building our funds and our volunteer base, and taking our message to every corner of the 9th congressional district. We are growing in size and strength, bringing a diverse coalition together that will make history in Chicago by voting for a fresh start this November. We are working hard, fueled by the knowledge that we are doing what is right for our communities, for our families, and for our country!

Our opponents are scrambling to catch up. They are hiring staff and opening a campaign office for the first time. They are starting to spend money they thought they’d be able to give away. They’re even sending their senior management to my campaign events–a truly bizarre tactic. They’ve just changed their slogan to: “A Fighter On Our Side.” Whatever happened to “no red states, no blue states”? Are we in a civil war here?

Jan Schakowsky’s strategy is clear. She’s given up on independent voters. She’s given up on small business. She’s given up on reaching out to diverse groups of voters. She’s just going to try to energize her “base” by telling them that Joel Pollak is “not one of us.” That’s not even what her “base” wants to hear! We will win by bringing people together–people who share a common desire to get America back on track, and back to work.

It’s exciting to be a part of this effort. Our progress is due to the incredible efforts of our volunteers and staff, as well as the continued generosity of our donors. Most of all, our success is due to the ideals that we believe in–the ideals of freedom that animate our Constitution, and which shall always remain the foundation of America’s prosperity. Now is the time for us to step up our efforts, and work even harder for victory in November!
